Since 2014, when I got in trouble during my trip in France (my life story coming soon), I seem to have learned some lessons by 2016 the year in which I visited seven astonishing countries. Everything was, of course, low-budget : cheapest airline tickets or busses. Quick tip: for the best deals I’m using: momondo.com, skyscanner.com or eDreams.com.
- Turkey: Istanbul and Mersin
My favorite trip in 2016 was by far in Turkey. I went there for one week for an Erasmus+ project in Mersin. It was early February but it felt like the beginning of the summer. With more than 25ᵒ C the weather was perfect for lying on the beach or even swimming.
PS: I saw the most incredible sunrise!
Unfortunately, I spent only two days in Istanbul, I took some nice shots and got a chance to check out the famous Grand Bazaar. Were I not accompanied by a man I would have surely spent those two days there only .
- Krakow, Poland
This was the most spontaneous trip ever! I planned it with my Hungarian friend barely three days before the trip itself. You can get from Budapest (Hungary) to Krakow (Poland) with the PolskiBus for not more than 1 euro, but only as long as you buy it in advance (as in a few weeks in advance). Nonetheless, we bought ours one day in advance, so we had to pay 10 euros (still not a price to complain about). And that’s how we got there! Yeeey… Now the trickier part was finding a hotel considering that we hadn’t booked any and the trip took place during the weekend, not to mention the summer. So we finally found something for the first day, while the second day we were lucky enough to be taken in by an extremely kind polish girl! 😀 Though an amazing city it is a small one so two days were just enough for visiting it! My only regret is that I didn’t make it to Auschwitz which was only a 30 min ride from there. I’ll let the photos say the rest.

- Oslo, Norway
If you’ve been following my blog, you know by now that I am finally an EVS volunteer, which was a dream of mine for a long time now. So, moving to Oslo for this EVS was without a doubt my best decision in 2016. I might haven’t caught the northern lights, YET! I did though visit two beautiful places besides Oslo in Norway, that is Bergen and Balestrand.
- Gothenburg, Sweden
With its lovely streets, shops and bars Gothenburg makes for the perfect weekend escape if you are living in Norway. The prices –compared to Norway– are significantly lower so it comes as no surprise that Norwegians frequently go there for shopping: sweets and alcohol mainly 😉
- Frederikshavn, Denmark
Now this is my shortest trip of 2016, having been in Frederikshavn for no more than 8 hours, even though getting there by boat took me 10. I had to spent half my time there inside due to the not-so-friendly weather but it wasn’t at all disappointing as I found a really nice pub 🙂
- Barcelona, Spain

- London, England
“You might miss your plane someday if you always have your head in the clouds”. Now that is a joke I’m used to hear from my friends a lot but for this trip it felt like a premonition. I did miss the plane and don’t ask me why :)). Still, I got to London and the time I spent there was amazing, and for that I’m extremely thankful to my dear friend, Alexandra. Under the Christmas spell, London feels just like wonderland so I strongly suggest you to visit it during the winter holidays if you have the chance.
Next trip? No f-ing ideea yet, but I really want to check out Marrakech!
